My Art

Remarkably it took nearly 2000 years of Irish history for a colour depiction of me to appear anywhere and that didn’t even happen in Ireland! It was former US President Theodore Roosevelt who fell for my charms after hearing about my exploits and commissioned the depiction of me when he was in the White House in 1907. Needless to say we all like to spruce ourselves up and I’m delighted I did. Who better to help me with tidying up my royal seal than one of Ireland’s most creative females, Anne Marie Williams.

Anne Marie’s career has seen her win industry awards and deliver memorable branding solutions for well known Irish and international brands. Her work is highly influenced by London design having spent the first 11 years of her career there after graduating from Limerick School Of Art and Design with an honours degree in design. Like myself, not just a pretty face.

With over 20 years experience working in London and Dublin for leading agencies, Anne Marie loves to create strong conceptual brand stories rooted in strategy and beautifully crafted. No wonder working with her was a pleasure. We could talk for hours.’I believe that branding has the power to shape culture by building positive influence which helps us live better lives.’ said Anne Marie when we started working together initially. I told her I lived by the sword but I can see the point she was trying to make.

Loving my new look by Anne Marie Williams.

Maeve is fearless, strong,
fierce, powerful, beautiful and independent.”

By the looks of things she is NEARLY as popular as me judging by these testimonials which, to be fair, I don’t think were secured under pain of death. Which brings me to my latest depiction.

I am Maeve of Connacht in case you didn’t know. Illustrated by Kevin Keane

I was also delighted with this illustration by the very talented Corkman Kevin Keane. How do you know a talented Corkman? They’ll tell you. The picture was all the more pleasing as I think Kevin is obsessed with some lad called the Man Bat. That fella doesnt sound like someone I would be inviting to dinner anytime soon, Kevin however is MORE than welcome! So there you have it the duo that helped me refresh my look. More on the way this year as I sit down to tell some of my stories but more of that in due course x
