It might be silly but everytime I hear that a girl has been named Maeve I take it as a great source of pride. Even 2000 years after my initial reign as Queen of Connacht I am delighted to see that my name is as popular as ever for new parents welcoming a baby girl into their world. I see according to the baby name blog Nameberry that my name is amongst the top choices heading into 2021.
I’m not one of those ancients who is not moving with the times. If I am to implement my plan I need to get with the latest tech.
The Namberry crowd reckon the top name in the US and UK right now is Luna, with Olivia ranking in second place in a top 5 including myself Aurora and Isla. There is only one clear winner as far as I’m concerned.
I note that this website recommends choosing your spelling carefully if you are opting for the greatest girls first name. ” Irish spelling Meabh is popular in Ireland, but not recommended in the US.’ they say which is one of the reasons I have changed the way my own name is spelled after all this time. I just haven’t the time to be explaining pronunciations.
These so called experts reckon ‘Maeve would make an excellent first or middle name choice, with more character and resonance than Mae/May and more modern charm than Mavis.’ I’ll drink to that!😉
I am Maeve of Connacht. My formal reign in the fab province on Ireland’s west coast was 2000 years ago but my spirit has been reawakened. Did I ever truly go away?😉 Please feel free to follow me on social media. All will be revealed in due course at the appropriate time. Patience.🙏 Contact one of my minions at admin@maeveofconnacht.com.
